Programming Options

Nordic nRF5 SDK

If you want to unleash the full power of nRF51822, the Nordic SDK provides powerful tools that can be used directly with Skydot. Other tools that Skydot supports are Keil μVision IDE, GCC make files, and IAR.

Arduino Shield

Our Arduino shield is the best option if you have existing Arduino code or want to use our modem libraries.

We developed an open-source Arduino library for Skydot that will allow you to program this
powerful chip and utilize BLE functions using the Arduino IDE.

Raspberry Pi Shield

Rpi is very popular among makers, this is the best option if you want to use Linux to
program Skydot Modem. We will provide a new open source library for Skydot;
you can program this powerful Modem using Rpi

With our library you can use existing Rpi code to connect and control Skydot board

Mbed

Our boards can run firmware developed for nRF51-DK using the ARM mbed Online
Compiler. We also support ARM DAPLink. DAPLink helps Skydot  appear on host PC as a USB mass storage device. Program files in binary (.bin) and hex (.hex) formats by copying onto the USB disk which then programs them into the memory of the Skydot board.

Apache Mynewt

Our boards can run the open source Apache Mynewt OS, incubating in the Apache
Software Foundation, which includes its own BLE stack that can support 10+ simultaneous BLE connections and other flexible configurations. In addition to the real-time kernel, the OS comes with various utilities such as secure bootloader, flash file system, time-series data, log and stats modules and more, enabling a prototype device to be production ready.
